Immigrant license issue sparks upstate revolt

State Senator Patty Ritchie, R-Heuvelton, pictured above, joined four other Republican lawmakers to sponsor a bill protecting county clerks from facing legal retribution from the governor’s office if they go against the “Driver’s License Access and Privacy Act,” expected to be voted on in the current legislative session.

OSWEGO — A coalition of upstate and Oswego County Republicans is opposing legislation that would allow undocumented immigrants to obtain New York state driver’s licenses.
