ALBANY — The two area nuclear companies that recently agreed on the sale of the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant asked state officials Monday to approve the transfer by mid-November or else the deal could fall through.

The $110 million deal between Entergy and Exelon was announced earlier this month after the state Public Service Commission approved a clean energy standard with hundreds of millions of dollars in nuclear subsidies for unprofitable upstate plants.
