WHITESBORO — The seventh-seeded Fulton varsity boys soccer team lost to host Whitesboro 2-1 in a penalty-kick shootout on Friday in the Section III Class A quarterfinals.

Fulton’s Sam Cary scored in the first half, assisted by Mark Tallents. Jacob Sherline netted a first-half goal for Whitesboro.

Neither team scored in the second half. The game eventually went to penalty kicks, and the second-seeded Warriors advanced.

Raider goalkeeper Dalton Hines finished with 12 saves. Whitesboro’s Mark Matev made eight stops.
