DEWITT — The Oswego varsity cross country teams competed in a tri-meet against Jamesville-DeWitt and Auburn.

The Lady Buccaneers lost 26-31 to Jamesville-DeWitt, but won 23-32 over Auburn. The Oswego boys squad fell 20-41 to J-D and 23-33 to Auburn.

Molly Fitzgibbons won the girls’ race with a time of 20:43. Miranda Gilbert came in second (20:44), while Sophia Babcock came in eighth (24:19). Also scoring for the Lady Bucs were Gretchen Dowd (25:20) and Anne Niger (27:51).

In the boys’ race, Harley Brinkman grabbed fifth with a time of 19:17. Jason Purtell placed seventh (19:25). Also running well for the Bucs were Ethan Hunt (20:17), Matt Chubon (21:26) and Landon Voss (21:32).



FULTON — The Fulton varsity cross country teams hosted a tri-meet against Cortland and Central Square.

The Lady Raiders defeated Cortland (no score), but lost 24-33 to Central Square. The Fulton boys’ team fell to the Tigers (21-40) and the Redhawks (23-38).

Abby Mainville placed fourth overall in the girls’ race (23:23), and Meilin Lamanna took fifth (24:02). Finishing in the top 20 for Fulton were Malie Follet (24:31), Emma Weaver (24:34), Bella Cary (25:46), Ava Demars (25:57), Autumn Schneider (27:03), Devon Nicholson (27:14), Phoebe Blair (28:04), and Naomi Roberts (28:05).

The Fulton boys’ squad had just two finishers in the top 20, with Jacob Hahn finishing fourth (18:42) and Ryan Carroll placing in fifth (18:52).


Mexico 221, Tully 236: The Mexico varsity boys golf team defeated Tully by a score of 221-236.

Lyle Trimble received medalist honors for the Tigers, shooting a 39. Ryan Mosher carded a 44, while Connor Revette, Nate Burrows and Andre Burns each scored a 46.

Jamesville-DeWitt 184, Fulton 230: The Fulton varsity boys golf team lost 184-230 to Jamesville-DeWitt.

Robert Voss and Trey White each shot a 44 for the Raiders. Tanner Emmons had a 45, Tanner Tetro scored a 48 and Matt Woodworth carded a 49.


Fulton 6, Syracuse West 1: The Fulton varsity girls tennis team beat Syracuse West, 6-1.

The Lady Raiders won all of their doubles matches. The teams of Leah Kingsbury/Madison Hotchkiss (6-4, 6-2), Victoria Stoutenger/Alexis Barth (6-2, 6-2), Alexis Ingersoll/Olivia Cunningham (6-2, 6-0) and Kaitlin Clingerman/Jasmine Fauler (6-0, 6-0) each won in two sets.

In singles, Madelyn Delano (6-1, 6-2) and Ana Marroquin-Aguilar (6-0, 6-0) both won in two sets.

Cortland 6, Oswego 1: The Oswego varsity girls tennis team lost 6-1 to Cortland.

The Lady Buccaneers’ lone victory came in singles when Abigail McPherson won in two sets (6-2, 6-1).

Chittenango 7, Mexico 0: The Mexico varsity girls tennis team lost 7-0 to Chittenango.

The doubles duos of Juliana Hernandez/Mia Morris (6-2, 1-6, 6-1) and Alana Rice/Grace Schipper (6-1, 3-6, 6-3) both lost in three sets.


CBA 4, Mexico 2: The Mexico varsity girls soccer team fell 4-2 to Christian Brothers Academy.

Adria Ariola and Kiara Richer each scored a goal for the Lady Tigers. Goalkeeper Briana Urquhart tallied 15 saves.
