The Fulton varsity girls basketball team beat host Carthage by a score of 54-26 on Saturday.

The Red Raiders had a commanding 32-14 lead at the half and never looked back.

Isabella Raponi led Fulton with nine points. Bernadette DeMott and MaKenzie Miner scored eight points each, while Alena Wright added seven points. Joann LeVea netted six points, and Claire Broderick and Devon Nicholson each tallied five points.

WRESTLING

Eastern States Classic results: A handful of local wrestlers competed at the annual Eastern States Classic Tournament at Sullivan County Community College over the weekend.

Fulton’s Camrin Galvin went 3-2 and finished seventh in the bracket at 160 pounds. He won a 3-0 decision over Shenendehowa’s Colden Dorfman in the seventh-place match. Other victories for Galvin were by 8-3 and 7-2 decisions.

Fulton’s Cuinn Burlingham finished 1-2 at 152 pounds. His victory was by a 10-2 major decision. Teammate Andru Walts at 120 pounds finished 1-2, with his only win by fall in 4:39.

Mexico’s Dean Shambo finished with a 3-2 record at 132 pounds. His victories were by fall (2:22), and twice by technical fall (16-1 and 15-0).

Central Square’s Kole Mulhauser came in third place at 145. In the third-place bout, Mulhauser won a 9-3 decision over Pittsford’s Nick Sanko. Mulhauser finished the tournament with a 6-1 mark.

Peyton Rupracht had a 2-2 record at 152 pounds for the Redhawks. Both of his wins were by fall (:46 and 4:03). 

HOCKEY

Fulton 4, CBA 4: The Fulton and Christian Brothers Academy teams played to a 4-4 tie on Friday.

Derek Schumaker led the Raiders with two goals. C.J. Watts chipped in a goal and an assist, while Patrick Galvin added a goal. Adam Cooney, Nicolai Tardibone, and Jon Dingman each provided an assist.

Goaltender Jadon Lee stopped 43 shots.

Brockport 6, Fulton 4: Derek Schumaker recorded a three-goal hat trick, but Fulton fell 6-4 to Brockport on Saturday.

Lucas Nelson scored a goal for the Raiders. Adam Cooney had two assists, and Fred White and Eyvn Ash each added an assist.

Goaltenders Jadon Lee and Trey White combined to make 47 saves.
