OSWEGO — The Oswego varsity girls tennis team topped Syracuse West 6-1 on Tuesday.

In singles, Abigail McPherson won in two sets (6-2, 6-2). Victoria Crisafulli also won in two sets (6-1, 6-3).

Two doubles teams for the Lady Buccaneers picked up victories in two sets. Grace Deland and Laura Cummings won 6-3 and 6-4, while Sonja Anderson and Kaila Loadwick were victorious at 6-2 and 6-1.

The team of Courtney Mills and Erica Henderson fell in three sets (4-6, 7-5, 7-10).

Oswego hosts Auburn Thursday at 4 p.m.


Mexico 7, Pulaski 0: The Mexico varsity girls tennis team pulled a 7-0 shutout over Pulaski on Tuesday.

Mexico’s Juliana Hernandez (6-0, 6-1), Juliana Smith (6-2, 6-2) and Paige Masrouri (6-0, 6-0) each won their singles matches in two sets.

The doubles team of Alivia Kelsey and Caitlyn Hackett won in three sets (6-4, 4-6, 6-3). The duos of Tori Stores and Mia Morris (6-1, 6-1), Shelby Schumacher (7-5, 6-3), and Alana Rice and Haylee Mannise (6-4, 7-5) all won in two sets.

The Lady Tigers host Jordan-Elbridge Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

ESM 4, Fulton 3: The Fulton varsity girls tennis team fell 4-3 to East Syracuse-Minoa on Tuesday.

In singles, Fulton’s Madison Hotchkiss won in two sets (6-2, 6-0) and Madelyn Delano came away with a victory in three sets (1-6, 6-4, 6-3). Katelyn Perkins lost in two sets (6-2, 6-1).

The doubles duo of Victoria Stoutenger and Jasmine Fauler pulled off a win in two sets at 7-6 (7-2) and 6-1. The teams of Leah Kingsbury and Ana Marroquin-Aguilar (7-5, 6-1), Alexis Ingersoll and Olivia Cunningham (6-2, 6-2), and Paige Kingsley and Aryona DiGregorio (6-0, 6-0) each fell in two sets.

The Lady Raiders host Central Square Thursday at 4:30 p.m.


Mexico 259, Phoenix 333: The Mexico varsity boys golf team beat Phoenix, 259-333, on Tuesday at Beaver Meadows Golf Club.

Ryan Mosher was the medalist for the Tigers, scoring a 43 in his round. Nate Burrows carded a 52, while Trevor Coe and Lyle Trimble each had a 54. Connor Revette shot a 56 and Jake Hill scored a 60.

Mexico hosts Homer at Emerald Crest Golf Course this Friday. The shotgun start is set for 3:30 p.m.


Cazenovia 5, Mexico 1: The Mexico varsity boys soccer team fell 5-1 to Cazenovia on Tuesday.

Connor Shaffer notched the lone goal for the Tigers. Buddy Ruby provided the assist. Goalkeeper Josh Hadcock made 12 saves.

Mexico hosts Solvay Thursday at 7 p.m. in the first round of its annual tournament. The tournament also includes Phoenix and Bishop Ludden.


Central Square 5, Oswego 0: The Oswego varsity girls soccer team lost 5-0 to Central Square on Tuesday.

Emma Burger tallied six saves in the net for the Lady Buccaneers. Oswego took five shots and two corner kicks as a team.

Oswego hosts Fowler Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Jamesville-DeWitt 8, Fulton 0: The Fulton varsity girls soccer squad lost 8-0 to Jamesville-DeWitt on Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Lydia Mirabito made 13 saves for the Lady Raiders.

Fulton faces Central Square next Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.


Skaneateles 3, Hannibal 0: The Skaneateles varsity girls volleyball team handed Hannibal a 3-0 loss on Tuesday. The Lady Lakers won 25-17 in each of the first two sets, and 25-15 in the third set.

Izzy Shoults led the Lady Warriors with five digs and two kills. Jhanae Douglas added five digs and a block, while Erica Stauring chipped in six assists. Kylie Emmons contributed three kills.

Hannibal takes on Bishop Grimes Thursday at 6 p.m.
