OSWEGO — Campers will roll into Oswego Speedway beginning at noon this Sunday, with the 48th running of NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week kicking off on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

For fans who are from the city of Oswego and Oswego County, Friday during SDW (Oct. 11) is hailed as DIRTcar Day, where kids 12-and-under get in free, residents who buy a ticket get one free, and tickets for college students are on sale at a discounted price. In return, fans will see racing action from all four DIRTcar Northeast Series, with live music and fireworks included.

In addition to the Super DIRTcar Series, the DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, Sportsman and Pro Stocks will all run qualifying heat races with chances to lock themselves into the main events Saturday and Sunday.

On DIRTcar Day, an afternoon of practice and qualifying will begin at noon and opening ceremonies at 6:55 p.m. will follow. Heat races, music and fireworks will start after the ceremony.

The racing schedule is jam-packed for all fans to enjoy, but DIRTcar and Oswego Speedway have worked together to make Oct. 11 be a special night for local residents as well.

Oswego residents may take advantage of the buy one, get one ticket option as a thank you for their generosity and welcoming atmosphere for officials, teams and visiting fans for the past four years. Officials have encouraged fans to bring the whole family.

Visit www.superdirtweek.com for tickets and tent-camping information.

Of note, the annual SDW parade through the streets of Oswego is set for noon on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Cars from every division competing during SDW will head out from the speedway and take three-straight right turns right on City Line Rd., East Ave., and East 10th St.; a left on to East Utica St., a right on to West First St., and a right on to NY-104 that will drive across the bridge, and head back to City Line Rd. to complete a five-mile loop.
