OSWEGO — The Oswego Youth Wrestling Program has open registration for their advanced (4th-8th grade) and beginners’ sessions (kindergarten to 3rd grade).

The advanced session will start on Monday, Dec. 2, with practice Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7:30 p.m. The session will focus on developing skills through technique demonstrations and drills. The main goal for this session is to prepare student-athletes to compete in competitive matches and tournaments at the youth and modified levels.

The beginners’ session starts Monday March 2, with practice held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-7 p.m. The session will focus on introducing the sport of wrestling to student-athletes. Student-athletes will learn basic wrestling techniques incorporated in fun activities and a positive learning environment.

Practices for both sessions will take place at Oswego Middle School. There is a membership fee for each session, and the fee will be collected on the first day of practice.

For more information or to request a registration form, contact Oswego varsity wrestling head coach Michael Howard at 315-806-8275, mhoward@oswego.org, or on the Oswego Youth Wrestling Program Facebook page.

The form can be handed in on the first day of practice. It can also be mailed to 58 Ridgeway Sites Ave., Oswego, NY 13126; dropped off at Oswego Middle School for Howard; or emailed to mhoward@oswego.org.
