OSWEGO — The Oswego 12-and-under Little League all-star team wrapped up pool play with a 15-2 victory over Baldwinsville in the District 8 tournament on Tuesday at Lagoe Field.

Oswego finished 2-1 in the Blue Pool. Three teams in the pool had a 2-1 record (Central Square and Baldwinsville), but Oswego had the best runs-against replacement average (.389) to win the pool.

Notching the third seed in the championship bracket, Oswego will once again take on Baldwinsville (sixth seed), this time in the quarterfinal round 6 p.m. today at Skyway Park. The winner of this game faces either second-seeded Seneca River South or top-seeded Crown City in the semifinal round on Friday at 6 p.m.

Nolan Roy picked up the win on the mound for Oswego. He went 5.1 innings and struck out nine batters, while giving up two runs, four walks and three hits. Cam Atkinson pitched in relief of Roy in the bottom of the sixth inning, picking up two strikeouts in his effort.

Atkinson singled four times, scored twice and knocked in two runs for Oswego. Roy singled, walked, scored three times and had two RBIs. Mason Naumann had three singles, walked, scored three times and drove in a run. Dominic Alfano-Kimball single three times, walked and scored three runs. Oswego’s scoring frenzy began in the top of the first inning. Naumann, Seubert and Alfano-Kimball were issued three-straight walks to load the bases. Roy then singled Naumann and Seubert home to make it 2-0 Oswego. Later in the inning with one out, Atkinson reached on an infield single and Alfano-Kimball scored for a 3-0 advantage. Callen followed up with a single to right field, sending Roy and Atkinson home for a 5-0 cushion.

In the bottom of the first, B’ville’s Kennedy led off with a triple. Kennedy later scored on a wild pitch, which sliced the deficit to 5-1.

Oswego continued its scoring trek in the top of the second. With two outs in the inning, Connors reached base on an error, which gave Atkinson enough time to score and bump the lead to 6-1. Krul and Naumann then hit back-to-back RBI singles for a 8-1 Oswego advantage. Following a pitching change for Baldwinsville, Alfano-Kimball singled home Naumann to make it 9-1.

Heading into the top of the fifth, Oswego added more to its lead. With the score 9-2, Alfano-Kimball crossed home plate on a passed ball and increased the lead to 10-2.
