POTSDAM — Liz Myers tallied two goals, but the Oswego State women’s soccer team lost 3-2 to Clarkson University on Friday.
The Lakers struck first at 4:01 in the first half for a 1-0 lead when Liz Myers found the back of the net. Graisa Madden provided the assist on the goal.
The Golden Knights scored all of their goals in the second half, with the first one coming at 48:51 from Giulia Mahoney to tie the game at 1-1. Camryn Careccia helped out with an assist.
Then at 58:10 and 86:45 in the second half, Alison Coon netted both of her goals of the game to give Clarkson a 3-1 lead. Mahoney fed an assist to Coon on her first goal.
Myers recorded her second goal of the game at 88:20 to slice the deficit to one, but the Lakers couldn’t overcome the deficit.
Clarkson outshot Oswego State, 14-8, and had a 5-3 advantage on corner kicks.
Sophia Portalatin tallied five saves in the net for the Lakers. Elyse Green made two saves for the Knights.
Oswego State (1-5) hits the road again Saturday to face St. Lawrence University. The game is set to begin at 3 p.m.
