FREDONIA — The Oswego State women’s soccer team lost 2-1 to Mount Union on Friday in the opening round of the Fredonia Blue Devil Classic.

The Raiders took a 1-0 lead at 35:15 in the first half when Andrea Decker scored the goal off of a feed from Maggie O’Donnell. Mount Union bulked its lead to 2-0 at 74:03 in the second half after Cortni Arp found the back of the net.

Oswego State’s Liz Myers netted a goal on a provided assist from Lynsey Roth at 77:29 in the second half, cutting the deficit to one goal. The late goal from the Lakers, however, wasn’t enough to overcome the deficit.

Oswego State outshot Mount Union, 26-16, and had a 7-3 advantage on corner kicks. Emma Allen recorded nine saves in the net for the Lakers, while Skyelar tallied 10 saves for the Raiders.

The Lakers (1-2) face D’Youville College Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in the final round of the Fredonia Blue Devil Classic.
