OSWEGO — The Oswego State women’s lacrosse team has released its 2020 slate, featuring 16 regular-season contests. Of those 16 contests, half will be played at home, with the Lakers hosting eight games at Laker Turf Stadium.
Oswego State’s final nine contests of the regular season will be against State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) opponents.
The Lakers kick off their season with a home game against Utica College Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 4 p.m.
Home games in the SUNYAC for the Oswego State are against Fredonia (March 21), Plattsburgh (April 4), Geneseo (April 15), New Paltz (April 18) and Cortland (April 25).
The Lakers’ road matchups in the conference include Potsdam (March 28), Brockport (April 1), Oneonta (April 11) and Buffalo State (April 22).
Nonconference home games for Oswego State are Clarkson (March 4), and Morrisville (March 14).
The Lakers’ out-of-conference road games are William Smith (Feb. 29), Lycoming (March 7), St. Lawrence (March 11) and St. John Fisher (March 18).
SUNYAC Tournament begins on April 28 and the higher seed will host each matchup. The first round (April 28) is followed by the semifinal round (May 1) and the championship game (May 2).
Oswego State went 11-5 with a 6-3 conference mark during the 2019 campaign. The Lakers made it to the SUNYAC Tournament as a No. 4 seed, beating No. 5 Oneonta in the first round (17-15) then falling to top-seeded Geneseo in the semifinals (18-5).
