OSWEGO — The Oswego State men’s soccer team has unveiled its 2019 slate, which includes 17 regular-season contests. Of those 17 contests, seven will occur at Laker Turf Stadium while nine of the dates will be a part of State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play.

The Lakers kick off their upcoming season with a road game on Friday, Aug. 30 at Morrisville State. Their home opener is set for Saturday, Sept. 14, against the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Oswego State will compete in a tournament Sept. 7-8 at Skidmore College. The Lakers will face Stockton University in the first round of the tournament, and then face either St. John Fisher College or Skidmore in the next round that includes the championship and consolation games.

SUNYAC play for the Lakers starts on Sept. 27 in a home game against Geneseo. The rest of the conference schedule includes home matchups against Brockport State (Sept. 28), Cortland State (Oct. 5), Oneonta (Oct. 11), and New Paltz (Oct. 12). Oswego State’s road games in the SUNYAC are against Potsdam (Oct. 18), Plattsburgh (Oct. 19), Fredonia (Oct. 25), and the regular-season finale against Buffalo State (Oct. 26).

The only other home game for Oswego State is a non-conference matchup against Misericordia University on Sept. 21. The rest of the non-conference road games include Hamilton College (Sept. 3), SUNY Poly (Sept. 11), and Ithaca College (Sept. 17).

The opening round of the SUNYAC men’s soccer tournament is on Saturday, Nov. 2. The semifinal round is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 6, while the title game is slated for Saturday, Nov. 9.

The Lakers are coming off a 2018 campaign where they compiled a 6-7-2 overall record and a 3-5-1 mark in the SUNYAC. Oswego State went 3-4 at home and 2-3-2 on the road.
