SARATOGA SPRINGS — The Oswego State men’s soccer team cruised to a 7-1 victory over St. John Fisher, Sunday in the consolation game of the Skidmore College Alumni Invitational.

The Lakers took a commanding 5-1 lead in the first half. Caleb Asamoah notched two goals in the half, while Kieran Gilroy, Ryan Young and Kyle Scalzo each provided a goal. Steven Rojas helped out with assists, and Slater Bushen contributed one.

Bushen and Anthony Paris both netted a goal in the second half for Oswego State. Jacob Munski and Santiago Soto added assists.

The lone goal of the game for the Cardinals came from Justin Bonetto at 42:08 in the first half.

The Lakers outshot the Cardinals, 23-11, and had a 5-3 advantage on corner kicks. Thomas Pupatelli and Matt Borrow combined to make four saves in the net for Oswego State, and Peyton Mattis and Cal Kolb chalked up seven total saves for St. John Fisher.

Oswego State faces SUNY Poly this Wednesday at 6 p.m.
