OSWEGO — Second-seeded Lighthouse Lanes shut out fifth-seeded Bosco’s 4-0 in the Oswego Little League Majors Division semifinal round on Tuesday at Lagoe Field.

Lighthouse Lanes advanced to the best-of-three championship series, which starts on Monday, July 22. Their opponent was to be determined by the outcome of Wednesday’s semifinal matchup between top-seeded Elks and sixth-seeded Vona’s.

Tuesday’s game saw a pitching duel between Lighthouse Lanes’ Owen Sincavage and Bosco’s Gavin Ruggio.

Sincavage tossed 5.2 innings to pick up the victory for Lighthouse Lanes. He struck out 16 batters and started out the game by fanning nine-straight batters. Sincavage allowed just one hit and four walks. Dominic Alfano-Kimball pitched in relief of Sincavage, ending the game on a strikeout against the one batter he faced.

Despite the loss, Ruggio went five innings and struck out 12 batters.

Sincavage, Alfano-Kimball, Dominic Stafford, and Mikey Conzone each collected a single and stole a base for Lighthouse Lanes. Noah Bwalya singled and knocked in two runs, while Owen Seubert reached base and stole second base.

Isaac Krul had the lone hit for Bosco’s. Adam Gfeller walked twice and stole a base, and Ruggio walked and stole two bases. Thomas Rolfe was also issued a walk.

Lighthouse Lanes scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Conzone led off with a single to left field. After an out, Seubert reached base on an error and Conzone scored to make it 1-0. Following Alfano-Kimball’s single to left, Bwalya grounded into a fielder’s choice that scored Seubert for a 2-0 Lighthouse Lanes advantage. Alfano-Kimball scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-0.

Lighthouse added another run in the third. Sincavage chopped a single to left field. With two outs, Bwalya drove in Sincavage with a single to right field. After three innings, Lighthouse Lanes held a 4-0 lead.

Bosco’s threatened to score in the sixth inning. Ruggio and Gfeller walked, which eventually put runners on second and third. Alfano-Kimball, however, thwarted the comeback attempt with a strikeout to end the game.
