QUEENS — Mexico Academy junior Joe Ocker competed at the New York State boys tennis tournament on Thursday at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Ocker took on the singles match bracket, but his season came to an end in the consolation round.

In the opening round, Ocker lost in two sets (6-0, 6-0) to White Plains’ Callum Markowitz of Section I.

Moving on to the backdrop round, Ocker fell in two sets (6-2, 6-0) to Chatham’s Keon Armstrong of Section II.

Ocker finishes his season with a 19-5 mark.
