With 8: 43 left in St. Bonaventure's women's lacrosse game against George Washington on Sunday, Oswego's Mikayla Place passed the ball to Fulton's Erica Knaub for a goal.
The goal put the Bonnies ahead 10-5, and turned out to be the game-winning goal. St. Bonaventure (3-7) eventually won the game, 12-9.
Kerrigan Cummins, a sophomore from Oswego, earned the victory in goal by making 13 saves.
Place, a senior attacker, finished the game with two assists and two ground balls. Overall this season, Place has 15 goals and 17 assists. She has collected 14 ground balls and has six draw controls.
Knaub, a junior on attack, has eight goals and five assists for the Bonnies this season.
Cummins has played in 10 games and has 67 saves this season.
St. Bonaventure plays at La Salle on Friday.
Monroe CC goalie
Mexico's Sarah Brown made eight stops in net during Monroe Community College's 21-3 win on Sunday against Nassau Community College in women's lacrosse.
The Tribunes (7-0) are undefeated this season, and Brown has been in goal for every game.
The sophomore has made 35 saves this season, and has a 54.7 save percentage.
MCC hosts Onondaga Community College on Saturday at noon.
Soaring for Nazareth
Kate Rothrock from Fulton and Suzie Gray from West Monroe each had one goal in a 12-8 Nazareth women's lacrosse loss to Ithaca on Saturday.
Gray also had an assist, while Rothrock caused a turnover.
Rothrock, a junior, leads the Golden Flyers (6-4) with 12 assists. She has also tallied 18 goals, 13 ground balls, and three draw controls.
Gray is a senior with 21 goals and 12 assists for Nazareth. She has four caused turnovers and fielded four ground balls this season.
Senior defender Hannah Dunsmoor of Fulton is also playing for Nazareth. She has played in five games this year, fielding two ground balls and causing one turnover.
Nazareth plays at Alfred on Saturday.
Rebecca Martin, of Oswego, had a goal and an assist for the Edinboro women's lacrosse team against East Stroudsburg on Saturday. East Stroudsburg won the game, 17-4.
Martin leads the Fighting Scots (5-6) with 46 points on 20 goals and 26 assists. She has also tallied four ground balls and nine draw controls this season.
Alexa Healy, a junior attacker from Oswego, has one goal, one assist, one caused turnover, and two ground balls for the Scots.
Hannah Fitzgerald, a sophomore defender from Oswego, has one goal, two assists, eight caused turnovers, and 18 ground balls.
Edinboro played at Wheeling Jesuit University on Tuesday.
Scoring for Utica
Brandon Tracz, a sophomore from Oswego, scored a goal in Utica's 22-5 rout of Houghton College in men's lacrosse on Saturday. Tracz scored the final goal of the game with 8: 17 left.
The sophomore fielded one ground ball and took five shots for the Pioneers (2-7).
In seven games for Utica this season, Tracz has two goals, one ground ball, and 11 shots on goal.
Utica plays at Alfred University at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Productive for Jackets
Mexico's Jessica Lawler tallied one goal and one assist in American International's 10-8 loss against Bentley in lacrosse action on Saturday. She collected two ground balls and had one draw control during the game.
Lawler, a junior on attack, is third on the team with 16 goals and 10 assists. She has four draw controls for the Yellow Jackets (6-3).
American International hosted the 10th-ranked University of New Haven on Tuesday night.
Oswego's Trent Yule netted a goal and added an assist for the SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team in a 14-6 loss against Castleton on Saturday.
The sophomore attacker also fielded two ground balls and caused two turnovers.
Yule leads the Kangaroos (3-4) with 14 goals.
He also has three assists, 16 ground balls, and four caused turnovers.
Canton played at Potsdam on Tuesday night.
