MIDDLETOWN — Mexico’s Reatha von Holtz and a trio of Hannibal athletes competed at the New York State Track and Field Championships over the weekend at Middletown High School.

Von Holtz fell one place short of bringing home a state medal. She finished seventh in the Division II shot put (33’ 5.25”). Her distance was just under eight inches behind sixth-place finisher Madison Jacobs of Dansville.

Hannibal’s John Ruggio placed 15th overall in the Division II 110-meter high hurdles (15.58). Fenix Burger came in 20th place in the high jump (6’ 3”), while Hunter Donhauser took 12th in the discus (128’ 2”).
