OSWEGO — A show featuring breathtaking speed will be on tap Saturday in the “King of Wings” program at Oswego Speedway.

Burke’s Home Centers and CNY Central will present the program, featuring the ISMA winged supermodifieds and the Xtreme Sprint Car Series.

The MustSeeRacing.com Xtreme Sprint Car Series released a probable entry list of 24 drivers for its 30-lap feature show. The entry list includes series points leader JoJo Helberg and other standouts including Jason Cox, Brian Gerster, Aaron Pierce, and Jimmy McCune.

Scheduled to join the Sprint regulars are supermodified drivers Paul White, Ray Graham Jr., and Bobby Santos.

White, a USAC Silver Crown Sprint Car driver from Texas, is now the regular pilot of the Steve Miller-owned No. 16 supermodified. Joining White as a scheduled double-duty competitor is Graham, who will be behind the wheel of an Aaron Pierce Sprint Car. Graham led 72 of 75 laps last Saturday in non-winged supermodified action at Oswego before running out of fuel, and is an accomplished winged supermodified racer as well.

Santos, who is widely known for his USAC and supermodified accolades as well as running select NASCAR Nationwide events, is scheduled to be in Oswego this weekend. He is a former ISMA Super Nationals winner at Oswego Speedway, and looks to etch his name into history as an Xtreme Sprint winner at the track.

The International Supermodified Association supers are two races into their season after competing at Stafford Speedway in Connecticut last Saturday.

Defending Oswego “King of Wings” champion Mike Lichty won in dominating fashion at Stafford over the 24-car supermodified field in the Reed’s Salvage No. 84. Ben Seitz, Rob Summers, Jon McKennedy, and Lou Cicconi Jr. completed the top five.

Fans can expect to see the full cast of ISMA regulars at Oswego on Saturday for the 50-lap “King of Wings” feature including Tim Ice, Timmy Jedrzejek, Mike Ordway, Johnny Benson, and Jeff Holbrook.

Midwest Supermodified Association drivers Trent Stephens, Dave Shullick Jr., and Charlie Schultz are also expected to be in competition.

Defending Oswego Speedway supermodified track champion Joe Gosek is also listed as being in competition behind the wheel of one of the Dave and Lori May supermodifieds as a teammate to Schultz.

Another driver looking to make the long journey to the Port City for the “King of Wings” is West Coast Supermodified ace A.J. Russell behind the wheel of the No. 10 Belfab Racing chassis.

Joining the winged supermodifieds and the Xtreme Sprint Car Series on the racing card for Saturday will be the Pathfinder Bank SBS Racing Series. The SBS teams will hit the track for a 35-lap feature.

Tickets for King of Wings IV are on sale through the Oswego Speedway box office. To order tickets, call Debbie Bond at (315) 342-0646 or visit www.oswegospeedway.com for more information.

Grandstand gates will open at 2 p.m., with racing set to begin at 5 p.m.
