OSWEGO — The Oswego State women’s hockey team hosts King’s College Wednesday, and faces Morrisville State on the road this Saturday in its return from holiday break.
Puck drop against the Monarchs (1-6-1) is set for 3 p.m. The matchup against the Mustangs (6-5-1, 3-2-1 in Northeast Women’s Hockey League) starts at 3 p.m.
The Lakers currently sit in second in the NEWHL standings, 2.5 games behind Plattsburgh (12-1, 8-0 NEWHL). After a 2-2 start, Oswego State went on a 5-1-1 stretch to wrap up the first half of the season.
Eryn Stewart leads the Lakers in points (3 goals, 10 assists). Amber Thomas, Megan Teachout and Morgan Shines are each tied with the most goals on the team (4). Thomas also has a total of eight assists, second-best on the team.
Goaltender Rachael Farmer has a 6-3-1 mark between the pipes for the Lakers. Farmer has a .905 save percentage and a 2.44 goals-against average.
King’s College is coming off a 4-2 victory over Alvernia University back on Dec. 7. It was the Monarchs' first win of the season after losing six straight.
Caitlin Redden is the Monarchs' leader in goals (3). Three different players — Tessa Schaefer-Flynn, Mary Deyell and Meghan Mietlicki — have two assists apiece.
Emma Zeveney, Kiva Sierra Stoltz and Hannah Bowers have all started in goal for King’s College. They have a combined 1-6-1 record, a .897 save percentage and a 5.07 goals-against average.
The Mustangs, fourth in the NEWHL standings, are riding a two-game win streak after sweeping Neumann University Jan. 3-4 (4-2, and 3-2 in OT). Morrisville State is at Plattsburgh today before Saturday’s matchup against the Lakers.
Maddison Devlin leads the Mustangs in points (2 goals, 13 assists). Mackenzie Lombardi has the second-most points (7 goals, 6 assists) on the team. Alexziz Giannamore is second in goals on the Mustangs with five, and Chyne Kennedy has the second-most assists (9).
Sissy Harman has a 5-4-1 mark in net for Morrisville State. She has an .880 save percentage and a 2.72 goals-against average.
