OSWEGO — The Oswego State men’s hockey team has released its 2019-20 schedule, which features 25 regular-season games and two exhibition contests. Of those 27 games, more than half will take place in the Marano Campus Center Arena, as the Lakers host 14 tilts.
The Lakers will kick off the season with two exhibition matchups at home against Carlton Place (Oct. 19) and Nazareth College (Oct. 26).
The home opener for Oswego State is set for Friday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. against SUNY Athletic Conference foe Cortland.
The Lakers’ SUNYAC home games include Plattsburgh (Nov. 8), Potsdam (Nov. 9), Brockport (Nov. 15), Geneseo (Feb. 7), Buffalo State (Feb. 21), and Fredonia (Feb. 22). The conference road slate includes Geneseo (Nov. 16), Buffalo State (Dec. 6), Fredonia (Dec. 7), Cortland (Jan. 24), Plattsburgh (Jan. 31), Potsdam (Feb. 1), and Brockport (Feb. 8).
The annual Pathfinder Bank/Oswego State Hockey Classic is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 3, and Saturday, Jan. 4. The Lakers take on the University of New England in the first matchup then face either Williams College or St. Mary’s in the consolation/championship round.
Oswego State is also penned to compete in the Utica College Tournament, which is Nov. 29-30. The Lakers first go up against Salve Regina, followed by either Plymouth State or host Utica College the next day.
Non-conference home games for Oswego State are Utica (Jan. 10), Elmira College (Jan. 11), and SUNY Canton (Jan. 25). Road games out of the SUNYAC are against Hobart College (Nov. 22), Nazareth (Jan. 14), and Morrisville State (Feb. 14-15).
The SUNYAC Tournament starts on Wednesday, Feb. 26. The semifinal round matchups are on Saturday, Feb. 29, while the title game is slated for Saturday, March 7.
The NCAA Division III Tournament gets underway on Saturday, March 14. The quarterfinal round is pegged for Saturday, March 21, and the Frozen Four will take place March 27-28.
With the schedule officially released, fans can take advantage of tickets for the upcoming slate. Returning season-ticket holders who wish to change their seat location will be able to do so starting July 22 through July 24.
