OSWEGO — The No. 15 Oswego State men’s hockey team hosts No. 7 Utica College Friday at 7 p.m., and Elmira College at 7 p.m. Saturday at Marano Campus Center Arena.

Oswego State comes into the contest with a 7-5 record. The team suffered losses to Saint Mary’s (1-0) and the University of New England (4-3) at its Pathfinder Bank Hockey Classic this past weekend.

Travis Broughman (9 goals, 6 assists) and Anthony Passero (2 goals, 13 assists) are tied for the most points on the Lakers with 15. Mitch Emerson, Jody Sullivan and Colton Fletcher each have four goals on the season.

In 10 starts between the pipes, David Richer currently holds a 6-4 record with a .908 save percentage, a 2.43 goals-against average and three shutouts.

The Pioneers enter the matchup with a 9-2-2 record, coming off of a two-game sweep of Adrian in Michigan. Both games went to overtime and they overcame a 3-0 deficit to score four unanswered in the 4-3 victory last Saturday.

Oswego State owns a large margin in the all-time series against the Pioneers, holding a 14-6-5 edge. The Lakers are undefeated against Utica in the past eight matchups with a 3-0-5 mark dating back to 2014.

Brandon Osmundson has the most points for Utica with 22 (10 goals, 12 assists). Daniel Fritz (4 goals, 10 assists), Kasper Kjellkvist (6 goals, 6 assists) and Donovan Ott (6 goals, 5 assists) have contributed their efforts for the Pioneers. Conor Landrigan has chipped in a total of eight assists so far this season.

Joseph Giacobbo, Gianluca Baggetta and Sean Dickson have all started in goal for Utica. The trio has a combined 7-2-2 mark with a 2.5 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage.

Elmira goes into Saturday’s game with a mark of 7-3-1 and on a five-game winning streak. In the Soaring Eagles’ last time out, they defeated Plattsburgh by a score of 4-1. Oswego State leads the all-time series with a 47-44-6 record, including a 13-1-1 mark since the 2010 season.

Matthew Cuce has a balance of nine goals and eight assists for Elmira. Nick Ford is second on the team in points with 15 (7 goals, 8 assists). Connor Powell (4 goals, 10 assists) and Christian Lloyd (5 goals, 5 assists) have each provided efficiency for the Eagles.

Chris Janzen and Logan Bateman both share time in net for Elmira. They have a compiled 7-3-1 mark with a .921 save percentage and a 2.33 goals-against average.

It will be First Responders Appreciation Night Friday, as the Lakers have set 200 tickets aside for fans belonging to that group. Each first responder will be able to secure two tickets until the allotment is gone.

Saturday’s game will be for Employee Appreciation Night. SUNY Oswego employees can obtain one, free ticket to the game. The free employee ticket is for seating in Section 51 and can be obtained online at tickets.oswego.edu using the discount code THANKS20 in advance of Saturday’s game. There are a slew of employee tickets available for the promotion, with game-day walk-up window hours of 5-8:30 p.m. at the Marano Campus Center Box Office.

Tickets are currently available online at tickets.oswego.edu, by calling the box office at 315-312-3073 or by visiting the box office during its hours of operation. Students are encouraged to collect their free ticket for hockey games through the online portal for an easier and quicker process.
