Chad Holbert (left) and Steve Arlukiewicz won the championship of the Oswego Country Club Men’s Member-Guest Golf Tournament.

OSWEGO — Oswego Country Club hosted its Men’s Member-Guest Golf Tournament Aug. 2-4. The event was sponsored by Pathfinder Bank and Eagle Beverage Co.

Fifty teams competed in a handicapped two-man, best-ball format with six pre-flighted divisions with 7- to 9-hole round-robin matches per team.

The course was in spectacular condition thanks to the work of Scott Peters, Neal Pitcher, and their crew.

The food and beverage service was provided by restaurant manager Tammy Murphy. PGA Professional Ryne Varney and his assistant Mike Hogan and their staff directed the tournament.

At the end of round-robin play, the winners of each flight plus a wild-card pick participated in a shootout to crown the championship team. The team of Chad Holbert and Steve Arlukiewicz came out of the First Flight to prevail in the shootout and take the title.

In addition to the flight sponsors, Canale Insurance and Accounting, LP&T Food Service, and Varney Golf sponsored a hole-in-one contest, long drive contest, and a putting contest during the event.
