LIVERPOOL — The Hannibal and Mexico varsity cross country teams ran in the OHSL Liberty League Meet on Thursday at Longbranch Park.
In the 3.1-mile varsity boys race, Hannibal finished in fifth place. Christian Brothers Academy took first place, followed by Westhill and Skaneateles. Mexico placed 12th.
Caleb Bender of Skaneateles was the individual race winner with a time of 16:31.6.
Dillon Plantz of Hannibal finished third in 17:05.5.
Completing the top five for the Warriors were Noah Kuc (16th, 18:05.0), Xavier Lastra (33rd, 19:19.0), Jacob Dennison (48th, 19:51.8), and Austin Calkins (50th, 19:54.6).
Hunter Herrington paced Mexico, placing 80th in 21:07.4.
Other leaders for the Tigers were Elias Hibbert (86th, 21:34.8), Daniel Chen (118th, 22:58.9), and Austin Trudell (119th, 22:59.7).
Placing in the top 100 for Phoenix were Michael Vanauken (67th, 20:41.9), Dominic Germaine (68th, 20:46.4), and Christian McKay (85th, 21:27.4).
CBA also won the 3.1-mile varsity girls race, followed by Chittenango and Westhill.
Hannibal’s Rylee Crego finished 53rd with a time of 24:52.5. Also competing for the Warriors were Alexis Alton (73rd, 26:32.0) and Britney Bishop (74th, 26:46.4).
Running for Mexico were Morgan Fischer (81st, 27:36.6) and Emma Hyde (89th, 29:58.8).
The top runners from Phoenix were Zoe Gordon (22nd, 22:44.6), Julianna Lewis (29th, 23:19.3), Violet Ameele (40th, 24:07.8), Jena Klimaszewski (82nd, 27:43.9), and Samantha Harrison (87th, 28:43.3).
