OSWEGO — The Oswego State men’s soccer team earned a 1-0 victory over Brockport on Saturday in a SUNY Athletic Conference contest at Laker Turf Stadium.
Caleb Asamoah scored on a penalty kick at 55:58 in the second half.
Brockport outshot Oswego State, 21-14, and had a 7-6 advantage in shots on goal. The Eagles had a 12-6 advantage in corner kicks.
Brian Terra chalked up seven saves in net for Oswego State. Tautis Poniskaitis made five saves for Brockport.
The Lakers (2-0 SUNYAC, 7-3 overall) host Cortland (2-0 SUNYAC, 6-2-1 overall) this Saturday at 1 p.m.
Brockport 2, Oswego State 0: Camryn Pettit netted two goals as Brockport handed Oswego State a 2-0 loss in a SUNYAC matchup on Saturday.
Pettit’s first goal came at the 33-minute mark in the first half off of assists from Sydnee Smith and Molly Zientek. In the second half at 79:47, Pettit found the back of the net on a penalty kick.
The Eagles outshot the Lakers 19-12, and had a 12-7 advantage in shots on goal. Brockport also had more corner kicks than Oswego State (8-4).
Emma Allen made 10 saves for the Lakers. Kayla Usborne recorded seven stops for the Eagles.
Oswego State (0-2 SUNYAC, 2-8 overall) takes on Cortland (1-0-1 SUNYAC, 4-4-1 overall) this Saturday at 1 p.m.
