ONEONTA — Oswego High School graduate Clara Culeton was recently named the SUNY Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the third time for her performance with the Oneonta women’s volleyball team.

For the week, Oneonta went 3-0 and Culeton led the way with 37 kills, 19 digs, and 11 blocks.

In 27 matches so far this season, Culeton has compiled 383 points, 291 kills, 30 service aces, 87 blocks, and 81 digs.


Nicole Hansen (SUNY Potsdam): G. Ray Bodley High School graduate and Fulton native Nicole Hansen continues to compete well for the Potsdam women’s volleyball team.

Through 23 matches, Hansen has totaled 196 points, 161 kills, 28 service aces, 212 digs, and 15 blocks.

Mallory Clark (Cazenovia College): G. Ray Bodley High School graduate and Fulton native Mallory Clark is close to wrapping up her final season with the Cazenovia College women’s volleyball team.

In 19 matches so far this season, Clark has racked up 121 points, 104 kills and 18 blocks.


Austin Richardson (Le Moyne College): Oswego High School graduate Austin Richardson won the 200-yard butterfly (2:03.75) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:58.36) in the Le Moyne College men’s swim team’s recent 165-111 victory over Saint Michael’s College.


Callie Beckwith (Campbell University): G. Ray Bodley High School graduate and Fulton native Callie Beckwith was recently honored during a Senior Night ceremony for the Campbell University women’s soccer team.

Beckwith, a defender playing in her final season with the Fightin’ Camels, has started all 17 games this season and leads the Camels in minutes played.


Darrin Cooper (Anna Maria College): G. Ray Bodley High School graduate and Fulton native Darrin Cooper assisted on three tackles in the past two games for the Anna Maria College football team.


Jacob Bailey and Owen Braun (Morrisville State): G. Ray Bodley High School graduate Jacob Bailey, and Hannibal High School graduate Owen Braun recently competed in the Hamilton College Short Course Invitational for the Morrisville State cross country team.

Competing in the men’s 4K race, Bailey placed 11th (15:36.2) and Braun came in 12th (15:37.6).

College athlete submissions

The Palladium-Times sports department is looking for submissions on local former high school athletes who are currently competing for a college sports team.

The department puts together a regular college sports roundup centered on former high school athletes from Oswego County.
