To the editor,
The Oswego County Legislature’s citing of the community service performed by Vernon Tryon is most appropriate.
During the 16 years that I spent in the Oswego area, I saw first-hand the extent of the time and commitment he had given and continues to give to so many nonprofit and service organizations.
His selflessness is manifested in his service to God and mankind, and I consider myself so fortunate not only to know him but to be inspired by him and his good works.
He is emblematic of the motto of Rotary International, “Service Above Self,” and it was through this organization that I first came to understand his value and contributions to the greater Oswego community.
Through it all, he has never sought the spotlight, but his good deeds speak for themselves, and I commend the county Legislature for recognizing this treasure among its citizenry.
