To the editor,

Imagine you are a new person moving to Oswego and pick up a copy of the local newspaper. And you read the letters regarding the consolidation of the Catholic Churches. What kind of an impression are we showing? I am embarrassed by some of the comments made by “good” Catholics on which church building should have been chosen.

Lest we forget, there are still people in many other countries who cannot pray in Mass or even admit they are Catholic.

I have no stake in this since I have attended the Hall Newman Center for the last 29 years after moving from Fulton and Holy Family church. And I appreciate the attachment people have to the church where they were married, their children baptized and maybe even married.

But to condemn the Bishop and those making this decision, its very un-Catholic in my opinion.

I pray that once July comes that the parishioners of all the effected churches will decide that the privilege to attend Mass far outweighs where they attend.
