To the editor,
A big “thank you” to Assemblyman Will Barclay’s assistant, Terry Wilbur, and Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow for getting my sister’s dog released from the city of Oswego Animal Shelter.
Kodi had gotten loose from her chain and wandered away from the farm. The shelter would not release her dog, which had been there for more than five days after being found by them and located by us. I pleaded for the shelter to return Kodi to us but we were told that New York state has a rule and were told that since Kodi came in with fleas, the shelter would not give her back to us.
As a result, despite our pleas, the dog spent over a week and a half at the shelter much to the heartbreak of my younger sister. She has had the the dog for more than nine years and at that point, had little hope of ever seeing the Kodi again. Due to the help given through Will Barclay’s Office and Mayor Barlow, Kodi has been reunited with my sister.
