To the editor,

As I’ve driven through the city of Oswego, my heart is filled with joy to see our community come to life.  On every corner, plants and flowers are in bloom, benches for walkers are usable, sidewalks are now safe, and construction for the better is everywhere.

It reminds me that regardless of what political party you may be affiliated with, if we focus on working for communities and people, leaders with a vision can bring a city back to life.

Mayor Billy Barlow has modeled what good leaders should do, bringing parties together and uniting the community with a common goal.  Thank you, Mayor Barlow, for caring for our community.

I hope we can continue in this same vein to eradicate the growing and pervasive drug problems within our midst and save our youth from this deplorable situation.  Our community must come together for this common goal, too.
