William M. Baldwin

ETOWAH, North Carolina — William M. Baldwin, “Bull Dog,” 71, of Etowah, North Carolina passed unexpectedly on Sept. 6, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.

Born in Fulton, he was the son of the late William I. and Anna Mae (Hogan) Baldwin.

Bill attended Fulton City Schools and graduated from Fulton High School.

He served in the United States Army. 

Bill later met and married his wife of 48 years, Bonnie (Knopp) Baldwin and together raised their daughters in Oswego. He worked for Niagara Mohawk for 32 years and retired from the planning department in 2002.

He was a former member of The Knights of Columbus.  He loved to bowl and was an avid golfer and member at Tamarack Golf Course.  Bill also loved to hunt. 

In 2003, Bill and Bonnie moved to North Carolina where they enjoyed the warm weather and his membership to the ORB’s Golf group in North Carolina.

Surviving are his loving wife, Bonnie; two daughters, Deana (Brian) Madonia of Georgia and Michelle (Lonny) Ludwig of Ithaca; one sister, Daryl Ann (Phil) Cobb; and four grandchildren, Greyson and Avery Madonia and Casey and Quinnton Ludwig.

In lieu of flowers the family would like you to make a donation to the charity of your choice in Bill’s name.

Calling hours will be 2-5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St.  Services and burial will be private and held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
