SANDY CREEK — Russell M. Janacek, 57, of Sandy Creek passed away at his home Wednesday, June 26, 2019.
Russ was born June 30, 1961 in Oswego to Roland and Frieda (Mead) Janacek. He graduated from Sandy Creek High School in 1979 as an Honor Student and exceptional athlete.
Russ attended Morrisville College for a time. He also had worked in the family business at Pulaski Roller Drome and Janacek Auction Service.
Russ attended Vorea Community Church.
He loved talking with anyone about cars and motorcycles. He enjoyed rollerskating and wresting and was a wrestling coach at Pulaski High School for a time.
Russ is survived by his parents Roland and Frieda; siblings Roxanne and Perry Ferguson of Boylston; Rod Janacek and Kelly Rossa of Sarasota, Florida; and Renee and Shawn Garvin of Orwell; nieces and nephews Rachel and Stephen Allen and their children Logan and Shane, Amanda and Joshua Altoran; Emily and Jon Bushie and their children Colton, Teghan and Magnolia; Shannon and Ben Fisher; Mitchell Garvin and Michael Garvin. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and a multitude of cousins.
Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m. today, June 29, 2019 at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 30, at Vorea Community Church, Orwell, New York.
Burial will follow at Boylston-Sandy Creek Cemetery.
