OSWEGO — Robert G. Harrington, 88, of East 10th Street in Oswego, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at the Oswego Hospital.
Bob was born in Oswego, son of the late Fred and Louise (Dowie) Harrington. He had lived in Oswego for most of his life.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country in the 1950s.
Prior to his retirement, he was self-employed as a distributor of Charles Chips potato chips.
For many years, he was an active member of the Oswego Kiwanis Club.
Bob was a communicant of the Church of Christ the Good Shepherd (St. Paul’s Church), and served in the church choir.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Joanne (Olson) Harrington of Oswego; two daughters, Kimberley (Mohamad) Farhat of Montreal, Canada; and Kelly (Michael) Nilsson of Georgia; a son, Chris (Deborah) Harrington of Oswego Town; three grandchildren, Joshua (Katie) Harrington, Yahya Farhat, and Dylan Harrington; a great-granddaughter, Olivia Harrington; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Beverly Sugar McVee; and a brother, John Harrington.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Church of Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Paul’s in Oswego.
Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Oswego.
Calling hours will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 E. Second St., Oswego.
