CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Margaret (Peg) Donahue Guyer Burke, 94, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Oct. 25, 2019.
Peg was born on Dec. 10, 1924 in Oswego. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Lillian Donahue.
Peg was a passionate and dedicated school teacher in Fulton and Tompkin Cove areas for many years. Teaching and being the mother of her children was both her joy and life’s blessings.
Peg is survived by her husband, John Burke. Four children, Russell (Diane) Guyer, Michael (Karen Sawyer), Laurel Hamber (Rick) and Meg Guyer; five stepchildren, Theresa (Paul) Penfield, John (Cheryl) Masuicca) Burke, Richard (Penny) Burke, Billy (Dee) Burke and Becky (Ron) Bennett; and her blended family of 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
A mass and celebration of Peg’s life will be held Nov. 12 at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church Chapel. Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m., with mass at 11 a.m.
Interment in columbarium and luncheon to follow.
