CICERO — Jerry M. Exline, 78, of Cicero, passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020.
Born in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Royal Webster and Wilma Augusta (Abell) Exline, he graduated from the Eastman School of Music, the University of Michigan and returned to the Eastman School of Music where he earned his Ph.D.
His enduring career in music education began in the Rochester City School District, continued at the State University of New York at Oswego and concluded at Le Moyne College. He was a dedicated church musician and maintained a thriving private teaching studio. The “Piano Man” was a talented and passionate musician, performer, professor, teacher and mentor who blessed all who knew him.
Surviving are his wife of 17 years, the former Gail E. Ensworth; children, Joel (Katie) Exline, Jon (Lindsay) Exline, Lydia (Michael) McAllister and Paul (Jackie) Mowers; grandsons, Sam, Ben and Barrett; brother James (Martha) Exline; parents-in-law, Fredric and Irene Ensworth; brother-in-law, Fred Ensworth; and several nieces and nephews.
Due to the circumstances of COVID, services will be private. A celebration of life will be announced next spring.
