NORWICH — Ida Marie Godkin, of Norwich, New York, passed away Feb. 10, 2018.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Sarah (Corso) Tesoriero.
Ida graduated from high school and business school in Oswego. She married James C. Godkin on July 5, 1954 and moved to Norwich, where she was employed as the executive secretary to the vice president of BF Goodrich Aerospace, Simmonds Precision Engine Systems Division.
Ida was a member of St. Bartholomew’s Church and a charter member of the Broken Squares Square Dancing Club. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are her daughter, Jamie (Paul) Dybas of Port Crane, New York; her brother, James Tesoriero of Oswego; four grandchildren, Elaina (Christian) Marotta of Clifton Park, New York; Paul Dybas of New York, New York; and Thomas Dybas and Valerie Dybas both, of Buffalo, New York; and several nieces and nephews.
Ida was predeceased by her husband James, brothers Sam, Anthony and John Tesoriero, and her sisters Anna Kuno, Theresa D’Arcangelis, Frances Todaro, Sadie Hilton, Margaret DiNardo, Catherine Vergona, Virginia Saylor and Mary DiMerio.
Calling hours will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Church, 50 e. Mohawk St., Oswego.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
