Gina Marie Neild, 58, passed away on June 19, 2019 at home, surrounded by her family and friends. Gina fought cancer fearlessly for more than a year.
Gina was born in Oswego, New York, and went to Mexico High School.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Ron Chrestler of Oswego and daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Dan Tighe of Amherst. Gina was the daughter of Frances Hanley-Fatiga and the late Frederick M. Hanley. She is also survived by her brothers Mike and Tom Hanley and nephew Joseph and niece Emily. Surviving also is her long time partner William Patterson, who embraced her with love and care through her entire fight.
Gina provided smiles to everyone she came in contact with at Compass Credit Union and in her home care work. She was a mom and friend to all she met throughout her time volunteering with the Oswego Marching Band and Color Guard. She also enjoyed her trips to the casino. Gina was obsessed with Barry Manilow and traveled the country to see him in concert. Her other great love was of her three grandchildren, Cameron Chrestler (2) and Addison (2) and Daniel (9 months) Tighe. She was the strongest, most loving woman.
Calling hours will be 3-6 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, with a service to follow at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St.
To remember Gina in a special way, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
