OSWEGO — David P. Mahaney, 74 of Oswego, died Thursday at his home.
He was born in Oswego and was the son of the late Lawrence and Gertrude Ouderkirk Mahaney.
Mr. Mahaney was the husband of Sharon Cleary Mahaney and the couple was married 53 years.
He had been employed for 34 years and retired from Novelis/Alcan as a furnace operator.
Mr. Mahaney served as a proud member of the United States Marine Corp and was a life member of VFW Post 2320.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Pamela (Ron) Cahill of Oswego; two sons, David P. (Rhonda) Mahaney Jr. of Oswego and Lawrence D. (Shanna) of Katy, Texas; one sister, Sallie Roberts of Granby; three brothers, Lawrence Mahaney of Oswego, Robert (Carol) Mahaney of Syracuse, and John (Marie) Mahaney of Las Vegas, Nevada; nine grandchildren, Joshua (Megan) Flett, Ronald (Stepfanie) Cahill, Jeremy Cahill, Christopher Cahill, Sarah Mahaney, Karsyn Mahaney, Dylan Mahaney, Ashley Mahaney and Liam Mahaney; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Mahaney was predeceased by a daughter, Tracie L. Flett who died March 23, 2019, and six sisters, Catherine Pritchard, Barbara Gureney, Rose Mary Johnson, Mary Jane Ruttan, Joan Flack and Marie Gray.
Friends are invited to call at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. Monday.
Private burial services will be in New Haven Cemetery.
