OSWEGO — Betty-Jo Woodard, 65, of Oswego, died July 29, 2019 after an aggressive battle with Early Onset Alzheimer’s.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Joyce (Knight) Gianetto.
She worked as a catering chef for Auxiliary Services at SUNY Oswego until she retired.
Her family was the most important thing to her. Betty-Jo was loved by anyone who met her and had the biggest, kindest heart. In addition to her family she loved all flowers, sunflowers being her favorite, birds, music, cooking and going to concerts among many other things.
Surviving are her husband Kent P. Woodard Jr.; two daughters, Angela (Christopher) Cross and Jodi (Robert Konys) Woodard; her sisters, Ann Marie (Rev. William) King and Marian (Jeff) Wallace; brothers, SMSgt.USAF/retired Joseph (Dale) Gianetto of Liverpool and Dominick “Nick” (Diana) Gianetto of Oswego Town; two stepdaughters, Amy (Michael) Cook and Dawn (Walter Purtell) Woodard, both of Bernards Bay; six grandchildren, Allison Cross and Samantha Cross, Aloysius Woodard and Anastasya Woodard, and Kayla and Abby Cook, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, in Elim Grace Church.
A graveside service and burial will be held at a later date in Hillside Cemetery, Central Square.
