ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. — Anne Robertson Bender, beloved daughter and sister, born Aug. 16, 1956 in Oswego, New York, passed from this life on June 6, 2019 at her home in Zephyrhills, Florida.
Robbie was a SUNY Oswego New York graduate, B.A. in education, B.S. in zoology, University of Gainsville, Florida.
She was predeceased by her father Cole Younger Bender and her sister Alison Harding Bender.
She is survived by her mother Ann Leadley Bender of Zephyrhills, Florida; and two sisters, Elizabeth Carlson (Jay Carlson) and Caroline Leadley Robertson (Noel Riley Heagerty); nephews Conor Robertson Barry of Wellington, Florida, and Cole Younger Carlson of Tampa, Florida.
Robbie was an accomplished, natural oil painter.
She had a profound and enduring love of nature which was particularly evident in her admiration of and encyclopedic knowledge of the class reptilia: frogs, turtles, snakes and lizards.
Robbie had a great love for her family and her sense of humor and fun will be missed by everyone, but her greatest and most noble accomplishment was her dedication, love and friendship to her mother Ann. They were “side by side buddies” for the last 16 years and shared everything together.
You will, dearest Robbie, be missed by everyone and life will not be the same without you, but we know that somewhere out there, in time, we will see you again, and all will be well.
