OSWEGO — An accident Tuesday on the city’s east side involving a car and a van sent one person to the hospital and gummed up traffic already slowed for ongoing construction.

According to county emergency response officials, personnel from Oswego City Police, Oswego Fire Department and Menter Ambulance responded at approximately 11 a.m. to the intersection of East Bridge and East Sixth streets on reports of a motor vehicle accident.

Officials said one of the drivers failing to stop at a stop sign was a contributing factor to the collision. One of the drivers involved was transported to Oswego Hospital with no life-threatening injuries.
