Mission 22: Locals walk 22 miles to raise awareness for veteran suicides

Pictured above, left to right: Tony Guanciale of Baldwinsville, Duane Crapser of Oswego, and son Jordan Crapser of Oswego are seen walking along Rt. 481, participating in a movement called Mission 22. Mission 22 is an organization whose goal is to end the stigma surrounding PTSD and traumatic brain injury. Mission 22 aims to raise suicide awareness to get veterans the treatment options they want and deserve. Walking 22 miles from Oswego to Minetto and back to Fort Ontario, the team wants to make the public aware of the fact that an average of 22 veterans commit suicide every day in America. “Suicide has touched our lives,” the elder Crapser said. “ We are trying to raise that awareness.” Visit mission22.com or https://www.facebook.com/Mi22ion for more information.
