SANDY CREEK — Four men are in custody after what police are calling an attack and kidnapping in northern Oswego County.
According to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, department personnel responded to a complaint shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday in the town of Sandy Creek after a 9-1-1 call made by one of the alleged victims.
Following an investigation at multiple locations, police said they determined four men had earlier that night gone to a residence to find the estranged wife of one of the men. The four alleged perpetrators — Roy Durgan, Jason Lance, Jonathan Goldsmith and Aaron Johnson, according to the sheriff’s office — then allegedly assaulted a male victim also present at the residence. Johnson allegedly then forced the female victim to leave the residence and travel with him to another location, police said.
All four men were arraigned in Oswego County centralized court and remanded to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of cash bail or bond.
Durgan, Lance and Goldsmith were all charged with first-degree burglary; Johnson was charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree kidnapping.
Police said the victims were treated at the scene and released and the incident was “isolated” with “no threat to the public.”
The sheriff’s department was assisted by the New York State Police and the incident is still under investigation, police said.
