APW Junior High School academic awards ceremony held

An academic awards celebration honored Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Junior High School students during the final week of classes. Principal James Heffron and seventh-and eighth-grade teachers bestowed several academic honors upon students in the following subject areas: Science, social studies, English language arts, math, foreign language, physical education, family and consumer science, health, music, chorus, band and art.

Perfect attendance awards as well as awards from U.S. President Barack Obama were presented. Earning an award from Obama were seventh-grade students Evan Colvin, Jonathan Comstock, Cory Costen, Zachary Costen, Anthony Frank, Helaina Hale, Alyssa Hamilton, Kobe Harrington, Brittany Karboski, Lara Kinney, Cassidy McConnell, Jillian Mueller, Dale Ostrander, Joshua Ostrander, Julieann Parker, John Pluff, Matthew Saccone, Tatyana Scott, Abagail Sweeney, Codie Thresher, Jasmyn Trumble, Collin Jones, Cierra Stone and Lucas Thomas.

And eighth-grade students Katherine Alsworth, Mikenzie Barankovich, Marissa Barber, Sydney Brouse, Austin Davis, Jaidin DeGraw, Christine Eckert, Megan Hart, Olivia Hoy, Sydney Jones, Breanna Lawrence, Maryanne Lazore, Taylor Metcalf, Peyton Nadeau, Kyler Nicholas, Tim Palmer, Hannah Porter, Lorraine Sampson, Kassidy Spoon, Rhyanna Williams and Mercedyz Wood.
