OSWEGO — Two Port City institutions are teaming up to support local residents in need as part of a new special event next month.

C’s Farm Markets, Oswego’s premiere produce wholesaler and beverage depot, will hold its first C’s Holiday Happenings beverage tasting on Dec. 7 from noon to 5 p.m. and are asking visitors to the free event to bring a little holiday generosity along with their appetite for beer and cider to help support the Human Concerns of Oswego.

The free event will take place at C’s headquarters on state Route 104 behind Fajita Grill, Oswego, and include beverage samples, food and in-store specials and giveaways, according to C’s owner Maria Johnson. Johnson and Human Concerns’ Director JoAnn Locy have partnered to request guests donate a personal care item while attending the tasting. DoTerra Essential Oils and TVS Engraving will also be on hand.

The all-volunteer Human Concerns acts as the area’s emergency food pantry, supplying three days of sustenance to each qualifying person in a household. Locy said personal care items for clients are not, unfortunately, part of the organization’s regular offerings but C's Holiday Happenings will provide an opportunity to stockpile valuable items like toilet paper, soap, razors and other useful but sometimes overlooked necessities.

Human Concerns Inc. is located at 85 E. 4th St., Oswego and can be reached at 315-342-7301.
