Breakwater and Lighthouse

Lake Ontario water levels reached record-high levels June, surpassing the previous record set in 2017. The breakwater, pictured above, was at times nearly overcome with high waters and has caused concern among some local officials, including Mayor Billy Barlow. Despite water levels receding about 17 inches since the June highs, Lake Ontario waters are still roughly two feet above average for this time of year, and federal officials are warning against potential damage from fall and winter storms.
